Properties: Specific gravity: 0.92. Melt and decompose at 80°C. Insoluble in ammonia liquid, carbon bisulfide, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents. At room temperature, in is stable in dry air and oxygen, and extremly easy to hydrolyze in dampy air. It will acutely react with water.
Use: In organic synthesis, it can be used as reducing agent, condensation agent, alkylation reagent, hydrogenation catalyst, Claisen reagent, and hydrogen releasing agent.
